The Massachusetts Association of Technology Transfer Offices (MATTO) is showcasing start-ups emerging from Massachusetts research institutions, hospitals and universities.
A select number of new ventures pitch to an audience of angel investors, venture capitalists, corporate investors, and family offices.

Featuring the region’s most promising applications of nanotechnology, the Nanotech Commercialization Conference gives private and corporate investors a unique view of new companies ripe for investment and partnership. These early-stage companies are meeting real customer requirements today. In a post-conference poster session, the spotlight will turn to research projects from local universities that could form the basis of a start-up company..

International Cancer Cluster Showcase
This focused partnering event will showcases cutting edge cancer R&D activities in 5 regions and clusters: Massachusetts, Quebec, Toulouse, Oslo, and the UK “golden triangle” teamed up to present their innovative oncology pipelines to an international audience as a satellite event to BIO 2012. The compact event features company and poster presentations and focused networking opportunities with an international oncology community.

Environmental Sensors Workshop
A workshop for researchers and company executives in Massachusetts who are developing and deploying new technologies to monitor the environment.
Monitoring the environment utilizes a large variety of new research techniques and technologies. The combination of new sensors, robotics, communication systems and massive information processing is enabling a new generation of research that can sense and monitor different environments and analyze change. Massachusetts research institutions have been successful in securing major grant funding to develop and build such systems – on land, in the atmosphere, and in the oceans. The new devices and data sets that result from these research projects also have applications in the commercial world – from homeland security, to placing new clean energy generation plants, and to developing early warning systems for major weather events.
The program will include presentations on new technologies and data analysis tools that are being developed in the Commonwealth, as well as discussions on their applications to the commercial sector and the product needs of both corporate and government users.

Ocean Science and Technology Conference
The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and the Massachusetts Technology Transfer Center invite investors, business development executives, commercialization partners, and economic development leaders to attend a conference that will showcase marine technologies and concepts ready for commercialization or licensing.
The conference will feature technologies suited to meeting the needs of businesses in deep water exploration and production and in maritime surveillance and homeland security.

Microfluids Technology Fair
The Microfluidics Technology Fair will provide an opportunity for industry and investors to review the latest technology developments in microfluidics from Massachusetts institutions.
Established companies and investors that work in the fields of Drug Delivery, Diagnostics, Fuel Cells, Electrowetting, Homeland Security, Instrumentation, Control Systems, Personal Care, and Research Tools are invited to review and discuss current research from Boston University, Harvard, MIT, Northeastern University, University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, University of Massachusetts Lowell, and other Massachusetts research institutions. Representatives from several institutions that have state-of-the-art microfluidics prototyping and development facilities that are available for industry use will also be available to discuss their capabilities and how industry may access these resources.
