Conference Description

Can you still be creative? In every lab in every research institution and company, researchers are told that they should be creative.  But can researchers still be creative with the organizational and financial demands that are placed on research environments?  Do corporations and academics still have the courage to allow their teams to be really creative? If you want to do interesting and exciting science can you still get the funding? How does business and finance leadership view creativity? Our speakers and panelists will discuss the current battle to create innovation friendly environments and its impact on entrepreneurs and young researchers finding jobs.

This year’s theme is “Can you still be creative?” Our speakers and panelists will consider how researchers in both academia and industry can still be creative in their scientific endeavors. Our speakers and panelists have years of experience and represent a wide range of technologies and inventions. They are presidents, CEOs, investors and consultants of leading companies and institutions throughout the area. We hope you find their discussions thought provoking.

The conference will feature Keynotes, Panels, Innovators’ Marketplace, Networking Reception with leading life sciences CEO’s , and Poster Competition - great prizes for 3 best posters! Panels and Discussion Sessions will include start-ups that got funded in the last 18 months, creativity in picking indications, how do post-docs and first time entrepreneurs break into the Venture Capital Club?, how to design experiments for maximum effect, developing your plan and pitching your idea, supporting and managing a creative research environment, and creative financing - what types of funding is currently available for start-ups

Join us for the flagship event of life sciences in Massachusetts, jointly and actively put together by all the major organizations that are involved in starting and supporting the life sciences start-up ecosystem in the Commonwealth.
