March
21, 2001; Louisville, Kentucky: The McConnell Technology and Training Center introduces a new look for the
MTTC website. The recently launched homepage is more than a facelift for the MTTC site.
Rob Propst, MTTC's Marketing Director explains, "MTTC's expanded programs have
outgrown the previous homepage layout. All of our new projects for Department of Defense,
regional businesses, and individuals were competing for attention in the old layout.
The goal for the revised homepage is to allow people in our community to directly access
information about our training classes and business services, while providing people
interested in Navy programs an efficient way to check the status of fleet improvement
projects. Unless you were very familiar with the old site layout, the quantity and
diversity of our projects linked from the homepage were a little overwhelming."
Site user surveys and web statistics
indicate that visitors to MTTC's website are generally interested in a specific MTTC
program and desire an efficient and logical way to navigate directly to program details.
Visitors to the McConnell Technology and Training Center website can quickly choose to
view current information about Navy Fleet Improvement Projects, Quality/ISO 9000
Opportunities, Business Services, Computer Training, and more. The layout and
organization of the new homepage enable users to swiftly locate and then proceed directly
to an area of interest with a single mouse click.
MTTC adds updates about new projects
and computer training classes to the site on a weekly basis. The new home page provides
practical information in a format that is easy to access. Internet visitors will discover
that the information they need from MTTC is only a click away.
