computer related businesses. Where are they going to find the technicians needed to keep
all of these computers up and running?"
MTTC has a solution that
grows local talent into certified computer repair technicians. MTTC offers an A+ Computer
Repair Course with a hands-on approach to teaching the material for CompTIA's A+ (a vendor
neutral certification program). A unique follow-up to the A+ course is MTTC's Benchwork
Tech Program, which includes 160 hours of supervised experience in a computer factory
environment.

satisfies experience requirements for regional industries. |
The
Benchwork Tech Program exposes students to a wide range of repair and troubleshooting
situations. Students inspect, upgrade and repair computers that are donated by businesses
and individuals to MTTC's PC Essentials Program . An instructor checks the student's work
and reviews the lessons learned as the repairs are completed.
Jobs for
experienced repair technician are currently going unfilled in the Louisville area.
Benchwork Tech is rapidly providing the region with technicians through this accelerated
training program. Some area computer repair centers have waived their experience
requirement for our graduates due to the concentrated experience provided through
Benchwork Tech.
The computers
refurbished at Benchwork Tech are offered to the public through the PC Essentials program,
with three hours of basic computer training, for $300.00.
