Vertical Package Conveyor Problem: These complex, continuously moving "dumbwaiters" are inherently dangerous to personnel and maintenance intensive. So many safety cutouts and devices have been added over the years that it is virtually impossible to troubleshoot. Solution: MTTC, with NSWC/CD/ Philadelphia will develop and test a computer based control system that will permit much more efficient safety interlocks, automatic lubrication and predictive maintenance.
