Scullery Dishwasher
Problem:The reliability of the shipboard dishwashers is the #4 ranked fleet problem since 1995. Various parts corrode and fail repeatedly due to the machine design, high temperature and caustic materials present.
Solution: Perform a systematic analysis of the various problems, more than 20 at present. Develop changes that can be performed as MachAlts based on cost-effectiveness indices and available funding.

Status: Ongoing
MTTC, using experienced commercial appliance engineering expertise, has visited a number of ships to observe the dishwasher in its operational environment and has developed a list of probable "fixes" for the problems. Currently MTTC is modifying a used dishwasher to evaluate the proposed fixes and make recommendations for a MachAlt kit.
