ISO 9001:2000 Internal Auditor Course          Registration form

Course description: This eight-hour course is an intensive, fast paced course focused on conducting internal audits to assess compliance with ISO 9001:2000 quality management system (QMS) requirements. This course is the perfect bridge for internal auditors trained to audit to ISO 9001/2:1994 requirements who are looking to understand the new requirements and acquire audit skills to reflect the process approach of ISO 9001:2000. There is a large focus on implementing and assessing processes for effectiveness, and implementing viable and meaningful continual improvement and customer satisfaction monitoring and measurement systems. Our seasoned instructors guide you through the changes between the old and new standards, focusing on how they impact the organization and you as the auditor. Tools provided in the class will enable attendees to conduct a ‘mini gap analysis’ between their current documented system and ISO 9001:2000 requirements. Case studies and class discussion will help you develop a hands-on understanding that will facilitate implementation of a good audit program. As is the case with the new standards themselves, course materials have been designed to be understood and easily applied by manufacturing, software and service sectors alike.

Benefits resulting from course completion: The skills and abilities learned will enable participants to plan, conduct and report results of internal quality audits in accordance with the requirements of ISO 9001:2000. Attendees will also be provided with a copy of a detailed ISO 9001:2000 requirements checklist and audit guide which they can use in their own organizations as an audit training tool, gap analysis tool, or internal audit tool. Attendees will return to their organization empowered with the knowledge and skill needed to contribute positively to their QMS through value added audits.

Who should attend: This course is for anyone responsible for conducting, managing or participating in internal audits to assess compliance with ISO 9001:2000 requirements. The course should also be of special interest to management representatives, quality managers, and implementation team members wanting to understand in more detail the intent of and possible approaches for addressing new/changed requirements.

Prerequisite: A working knowledge of ISO 9001/2:1994 or ISO 9001:2000 standards.

Course materials provided: Hard copy print outs (and associated electronic files) of all course training materials and handouts, including a detailed ISO 9001:2000 Requirements Checklist and Audit Guide.

Course instructors: The workshop will be lead by Mr. Michael D. Paten, RAB Certified Quality Auditor, and Senior QMS Consultant at MTTC. Mr. Paten has over 25 years quality management and consulting experience and has helped numerous organizations implement/transition their QMS to ISO 9000 based standards.

Next offering: January 31, 2003, 8 am – 4 pm, MTTC, Louisville, KY. Note: this course can also be provided on-site and tailored to suit your requirements/expectations
