Lynx Awarded DOE Funding for
Revolutionary Electric Car Motor

Motion Technologies, an MTTC tech transfer partner in New Albany, Indiana, was one of two
firms to receive $6 million in funding from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to develop
new electric drive motors for the automotive industry. The DOE, together with the two
industry partners, launched the initiative to develop smaller, more powerful, lighter and
less expensive automotive electric motor drive systems, the foundation for the car of

Visits MTTC Facility
August 25, 1999. Senator Mitch McConnell (R-Ky) visited the Manufacturing Technology Transfer Center (MTTC)
on August 24, 1999. In 1995, Senator McConnell was instrumental in securing funding
for the establishment of MTTC, and has been a strong supporter in its four years of
