Computer Training

Montgomery GI Bill:
Do you qualify for benefits under the:
  • Montgomery GI Bill Program;
  • Veterans Educational Assistance Program; or
  • Survivors' and Dependents' Educational Assistance Program?
All of MTTC's Computer Repair and IT Training Courses and Packages are eligible for VA Education Benefits.

CompTIA Certification Testing Fees are eligible for benefits. A+, Network+ and Server+ test are all eligible under the Licensing and Certification Benefit http://www.gibill.va.gov/education/LCweb.htm.

If you have GI Bill funding available to you and have the “right stuff” to train for a fast growing and high paying Information Technology career, MTTC can help you march forward toward future success.

Follow these steps to use your GI Bill funding at MTTC:

  1. Confirm Your Eligibility for Educational Benefits Under the Montgomery GI Bill

Call MTTC to schedule an appointment with MTTC’s Training Coordinator, (502) 367-2186 X 718. Please know the following information when you attend this appointment:

    • the date of your honorable discharge
    • your social security number
    • your date of birth

Using this information, MTTC’s Training Coordinator will be able to confirm with the VA Regional Office that you qualify for educational benefits under the Montgomery GI Bill.

  2. Complete a Student Application

If you are eligible to receive educational benefits under the Montgomery GI Bill – Active Duty or Selected Reserve, and are doing so for the first time, you should complete an Application for VA Education Benefits (VA Form 22-1990). If you have used these benefits in the past at another school, you should complete a Request for Change of Program or Place of Training (VA Form 22-1995). These forms are available from the MTTC Training Coordinator, any VA regional office, and at www.gibill.va.gov.

If you are eligible to receive educational benefits under the Montgomery GI Bill – Dependents’ Educational Assistance Program (DEA), and are doing so for the first time, you should complete an Application for Survivors’ and Dependents’ Educational Assistance (VA Form 22-5490). If you have used these benefits in the past at another school, you should complete a Request for Change of Program or Place of Training Survivors’ and Dependents’ Education Assistance (VA Form 22-5495). These forms are available from the MTTC Training Coordinator, any VA regional office, and at www.gibill.va.gov.

You may complete the appropriate application form while meeting with MTTC’s Training Coordinator.

  3. Register to Begin Training at MTTC

Once your eligibility has been confirmed and you have completed a Student Application, you may register and begin training at MTTC. Because your GI Bill benefits won’t be received until after you have begun training, at the time of registration you should be prepared to pay any tuition fees that may not be payable by GI Bill benefits, in addition to an administrative fee of $195.00. If need be, you may apply for additional financing through SallieMae or Key Education Resources, both short-term signature loan programs available for individuals pursuing technology training.
